Imagine This...
Imagine not being able to read the directions on a can of soup, or on a container of prescription medication, or a confusing maze of highway construction signs. What would it be like, not to be able to read a bedtime story to a child, or to help a third grader with her homework, or to read the newspaper?

Many adults in this community face challenges such as these on a daily basis. The Read "Write" Adult Literacy Program seeks solutions to those issues.

The Read "Write" Program is a non-profit organization, dedicated to helping adults in Torrance County improve their reading, writing and speaking skills.

Information on the Program
The Read "Write" Adult Literacy Program seeks students and tutors for both adult basic literacy, and English as a second language (ESL), on an ongoing basis. Tutor training is offered free of charge to any individual interested in helping others learn to read better. It is not necessary to speak any language other than English in order to instruct others to learn to speak, read, and/or write the English language.
